Hi There

Okay, so I am a total slacker, but life has been SO busy. Between moving, closing on our house, and everything else, I have been beyond busy. Also, I can't find my camera, so no pictures for now. I promise though that I will be better about blogging in the weeks to come.

The year of Independence!

I have officially declared 2009 the year of independence for Isabel. We have three goals this year:

1. No more binkeys.

2. Potty Training - no more diapers

3. Quit whinning!

So here is our progress as of today:
1. Today all her binkeys broke (aka. I cut off all the tips). She has been crying all day and I have a headache. She didn't take a nap because of all the crying. I am really hoping she sleeps tonight. All day she's been asking me to call daddy and tell him about the binkey. She then says, "dadda fix Boo Boo's binkey". (for you who don't know Boo Boo is her nickname and she calls herself that. So, I am really hoping it only takes a few days to get over this crying over the binkey thing. I'm already tired of it.

2. She does not like do her business on the toilet, however, she does keep her panties dry. About 2 weeks ago she pooped in her Ariel panties. She was so upset about it, but since then her panties have stayed dry. The past few days she has not worn them. In the mornings when we get dressed I give her the option panties or diaper. I am really hoping she gets this faster rather than slower. She just hates the toilet.

3. The whinning is killing me! She whinnes all day long. So, now if she whinnes I turn off her movie or her musics or take away her snack, etc. Then I ask her, "are you going to keep whinning?" She sometimes says "no". I am working on this one, I feel it's going to be an uphill battle.

On a side not Isabel learned about sissors and decded to take chunks out of her hair. He hair was in a pig tail so the short pieces are layered throughout her hair when it's down. Here is a shot of a chunk missing.

Viva Las Vegas

Here are a few things we did while in Vegas with Ryan's family....... Isabel played on the giant piano at FAO Schwards (sp?). It was cute to watch her. This is like the big piano in the movie "Big".
Tim, Ryan's brother, bought this fishing game. Isabel played it nonstop the entire trip. She loved it!

This is us at Excalibur. We played the arcade and won lots of stuffed animals. Isabel is holding en elephant and I am holding a bear. She also got a fish.

Isabel, Ryan, and Spongebob. Isabel was really excited to see a big Spongebob in person.

Christmas Village

Last night we went to the Christmas Village in Ogden. I had never gone before, but I told Ryan that I want to make it a tradition to go every year. It was really fun. They have these little houses in a park with Christmas themes. The houses have little windows so you can look in and see the cute Christmas scenes in each house. Isabel didn't get much out of it, but I thought it was fun. Ryan's parents came with us. We had such a good time.
It was really cold ..... as you can probably tell by the way Isabel and Liz are dressed.

California Trip

Last week we drove out to California to visit the Jenkins family. It was such a fun trip. We didn't do too much. One day we went to the Jelly Belly factory and took a tour and we went to Monterey. In Monterey we went to the aquarium. It was a fun little side trip. Here are so pictures from our trip. It was a blast! Me and Isabel wearing our official Jelly belly hats. She actually kept it on the entire time, which really suprised me.
Ryan and Isabel in Monterey. It was such clear, beautiful water. The coast line was really beautiful.

Me and Isabel on the same beach in Monterey. She did not want her picture taken, so she looks a little mad.

This is at the aquarium in Monterey. She dressed up like Nemo and was riding a fish. This was the most fun she had there.

This is on our way back to Lisa's house in Auburn. She insisted on putting her sunglasses on herslf. Or as she likes to say, "My do it!". Anyway, they ended upside-down on her face, but she was proud of herself.
We had such a fun time out there. While out there it was our 4th anniversary. It has really flown by. We've moved 4 times. Built 2 houses. Have had 2 trucks and 4 cars. One little stinker named Isabel and a lot of fun. I just hope the next 4 years are just as fun (with a little less moving and car buying/selling).

Temple

I hate to admit it, but it's been almost 2 years since Ryan and I have gone to the temple.... until last night. It was so nice to go. I have missed it. We really have no excuse for not going. I think we just forgot to go. That probably sounds dumb, but I think we are so busy that we sometimes forget to do important things. We have made a goal to not wait another 2 years to go. I really think Heavenly Father will bless us if we make time for Him. During the session I got the strongest feeling like everything is going to be okay. I didn't get an answer to why I'm not pregnant yet, or why I'm lonely, or why my parents abandoned me (just kidding), or why our house hasn't sold, or why Ryan has been unemployed most of this year ....... but I had such an overwheming feeling that Heavenly Father loves me and that EVERYTHING will turn out. It was such a comfort to me. I felt so much peace when I left. I love the temple and I am so blessed to live close to one.

Missing You!

It's only been a few days and already we are missing you, Mom and Dad. My week has been very boring. We love you and miss you!
