Happiest Place On Earth - DISNEYLAND

We spent last week in Disneyland. We went with Ryan's family. It was so much fun!! I had a blast. I think Isabel was a little confused, but she seemed to have fun. It was a really fun vacation. We went to Disneyland and California Adventure 2 days, the beach one day, had Thanksgiving another day, and went to a harbor the last day. We also stopped in Las Vegas on the way home (yes, we drove). It was over-all a big success as far as family vacations go (I only cried twice, which if you know me, is pretty good. And I didn't yell at anyone related to me). Here are some pictures of our happy trip.....

Voting

I voted today! I am really embarrassed, but I am 27 years old and this is the first time I have voted. I have decided to never let it pass again. I should be more patriotic. Actually what it comes down to is, I am really opinionated and therefore should vote, otherwise I should keep my opinions to myself. So, I am pretty proud of myself - I voted for the first time today. It's never to late to start!

Twilight

I am almost done with the book Twilight, recomended to me by my cousin Erika. It is such a good book. I am a little suprised that I am most like Esme, but that's cool, she's a vampire and interesting. If you have not read this book - do it now!

Which Twilight novel character are you?

You're Esme Cullen - Your maternal instinct to take care of people and be kind draw people towards you. You're compassionate and loving, yet firm when you need to be. You appreciate hard work and value the beautiful results of your dedication to any project.

Not a fun week for us

So, Halloween seemed pretty fun, until that night. We put Isabel to bed at about 7:45. By 8:30 she was screaming and acting like should could not breath. We thought she was beeing a stinker, so we made her go back to bed. At 10:30 we finally decided to go to the ER becasue she was really struggling with breathing and was kind of sounding like a dog barking. By the time we got to the ER she was breathing fine and was no longer coughing. It was weird, but we thought she must not be sick, so we went back home without being seen. Then at about 11:30, after she had cried for another 30 minutes, Ryan got scared because again she was acting like she could not breath, so he took her to the ER. She had croup. They gave her a steriod to open her airway and she seemed to be feeling better instantly. Ryan and Isabel got home at about 2:30 in the morning. For the next 3 days she was not herself, but feeling better. Well, then yesterday she would not take her naps and was so fussy. SO, we decided to go to KidsCare before they close so we wouldn't have to go to the ER again. Well, now she has a double ear infection. How fun, huh? It's one thing after another. She never gets sick, but when she does it all comes at once. So, we are on lots of drugs and taking it easy.

HALLOWEEN

Oh the joys of Halloween. This is Isabel's first Halloween dressing up, since last year she was a few weeks old on Halloween. This year she was a pink poodle. She loves this costume. Everytime I take it out of the closet she gets so excited and tries to hug it. It is very cute. I think she must know how cute she is in it and how much attention she gets while wearing it. She gets to wear it 3 times this year -- to the ward Halloween party, to our family Halloween party, and trick-or-treating. I know she will be pretty confused trick-or-treating, but Ryan will love the candy. I am trying to cut the candy out .... we'll see how that goes. But on that note, since Jan 1st of this year, I have lost 25 lbs. I am so proud of myself. So, Halloween = good times. By the way, I am dressing up as a Dog Walker. You can't go wrong with that costume. Happy Halloween everyone!

Jenny Phillips

For all of you who have not heard ...... Jenny Phillips and her husband Dan came to out Evening of Excellence this week. It was amazing!! The way I got them to come -- I know Dan. He was one of my teachers in the MTC. So, I contacted them about 2 months ago and asked if they would come. Did you know that Jenny gets booked for the whole year in January? I was amazed. Luckily, she said that since I know Dan, they would love to come. For our program we had 3 young women speak and then turned the time over to the Phillps'. They were great! They spoke, she sang, we all cried ... it was fabulous. I am so grateful for the spiritual experience we all had this week. I love Jenny Phillips! Her music is so wonderful. She sang songs from her new CD, coming out soon, and they were super good. I want it for Christmas. It was a really great evening and the young women loved it. It was a major success.

I belong in Rome too

I found this through Erika's blog and then someone elses...... long story short, I belong in Rome. I'm booking my flight right now.
You Belong in Rome

You're a big city soul with a small town heart
Which is why you're attracted to the romance of Rome
Strolling down picture perfect streets, cappuccino in hand
And gorgeous Italian people - could life get any better?

Isabel's Birthday

Well, it was Isabel's Birthday last week. I can't beleive that she is one. It seems like she just came a few months ago. She had a lot of fun at her party. She got some fun gifts and made a huge mess of her cake. I, by the way, made her cake. I think it turned out pretty cute. I love cake decorating. Anyways, it was a fun day and we had a good time with family and friends. To all of you who came: thank you. To all of you who could not be there: We missed you. We love you all!

Only A Mother Could Love This Face

The other day I was wanting pumpkin cookies, so I make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Isabel was standing at my feet begging for a cookie, so I put her in her high chair and gave her one. She loved it! She also got chocolate everywhere. You know she enjoyed it by the chocolate all over her face. She's a funny girl.
On October 2nd Isabel turned 1 year old! I can't believe it. We are having a party on Saturday the 6th. If you would like to come, call me. I will probably put pictures on from her party later. More messy face pictures.

Grandma Dearie

The other day we went to visit dear OLD
Grandma Dearie. It was really nice to see her. She's practically a new person. This summer she's had 3 eye surgeries and has seen the dentist about 4 times, and still has upcoming appointments. She is getting a make-over inside and out. Even though she's getting older, it was fun to see her. Isabel wanted nothing to do with her (as you can tell from the photo). When I tried to get Isabel to sit on her lap, there was serious protesting. Oh well, what can you do about that? Anyways, it was great to see our Grandma. She is doing great. We love her.

Isabel loves her maté

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love maté. It's an Argentine drink. I promise it's not drugs and is not against "the word of wisdom". I drink it with my parents ay least once a day, if not twice. Ever since Isabel has been able to ... well, since her birth really .... she has been interested in maté. We always would share with her, but she could not figure out how to suck it through the straw. Well, this week is monumental - she learned to suck! She is a maté drinking machine. She loves the stuff! So know whenever we have a maté she has to have a sip of everyones or she freaks out. She is so cute. I think Ryan is a little worried about her being addicted. I'm not sure why he thinks it may be addicting, I only need it 2 times a day to function. Just kidding. Things are good here in maté land.

Hmmmmm......

I have been sitting here for about 5 minutes trying to think of a title for this post. So, Hmmmm... it is. Really I have nothing new or exciting to say. I never read these things, I usually just look at the pictures (it's the same with National Geographic, I love those pictures). I guess the only new thing is that it is hotter than ever here. We spend a lot of time in the shade or in water. I am super bummed out though, my dad sold his boat this week. I love boating. Isabel is not so sure about it, but I love it.

I am doing weight watchers. I have been on the program for about 7 weeks and have lost 11.2 lbs. That .2 does make a difference too. I am feeling great and have so much energy. I am fitting into clothes that have not fit me since I first got married. I love that!

I hope you all are doing well. I can't wait to see you all.
p.s. this picture is about 2 months old, but I just love it.

May 2007

So this month has been ...... boring as usual. So, I thought I would catch everyone up on Isabel. Here we go, pay attention, if you blink you might miss it all. She has two teeth, blond thin hair, and wants to crawl more than anything. She is super good at rolling back and forth. And is also really good at sitting up by herself. Any day now I know she will figure out how to crawl. So, that's the update.
Here is the update on me and Ryan. I am working from home with a company called The Apple Program. I am a health coach for people with either major health problems or minor problems. I really like my job. Feel free to check it out at appleprogram.com . You can even see the picture of me looking fat next to my bio (I'm working on my weight loss). Ryan is still working construction. He is currently trying to buy a new desiel truck so he and my dad can do the biodesiel thing full speed ahead. If you don't know what I mean about that, leave me a message and I'll fill you in. Ryan is good though. He still has about 3 years of school, but that's okay.
Well, other than that, life is the same as always. We would love to hear from you all.

Our Family

For all those reading, this may be a little boring. I'll try to give it a little spice though. Lets see..... Ryan is still in school. He hopes someday to graduate. He is studying accounting. He still is building homes and does a fantastic job. He built our home about 1 1/2 years ago. I am so blessed to have such a handy husband. I started working from home with a company called the Apple Program. Feel free to look us up on the web at appleprogram.com and you can even read my bio. I coach people who have health problems. It is easy and fun, and I ony; work 2 hours a day. Isabel is getting so big. She is 6 months old. She is rolling over and loves to try to give kisses (she licks my face, pretty gross, but cute). She is such a good baby. She sleep 12 hour nights and takes such good naps. we are lucky to have such a nice baby. Well, everthing is good and we feel like we are blessed daily. Talk to you all later.
